• 2012 Super Bowl in Indianapolis - Feb. 5th, 2012 (New York Giants vs. New England Patriots; with Madonna as halftime performer)

• Breaking and continuing coverage of the Indiana State Fair stage collapse on Aug. 13th, 2011, which killed 7, injured 58 others
• March 2-3, 2012 deadly tornado outbreak, including tornadoes which devastated Henryville and other communities in southern Indiana

Coverage highlights:
• Breaking and continuing coverage of Fort Hood massacre, Nov. 5th, 2009 at Fort Hood, Texas (the most populous U.S. military installation in the world); the shooting left 13 dead, more than two dozen injured; it is the worst shooting ever on an American military base
